Chit Wai John Mok

Chit Wai John MOK is Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He obtained his PhD in sociology from the University of California, Irvine.

His current research interests include sociology of culture, sociology of religion, and anthropology of ethics. His research agenda focuses on the Catholic Church in China and Hong Kong cinema. He has published in high-ranking journals such as Mobilization, The China Journal, Political Research Quarterly, and Journal of Contemporary China. He has also frequently answered journalistic inquires on Sino-Vatican relations.
