Edmund W. Cheng (PhD, LSE) is a Professor in the Department of Public and International Affairs at the City University of Hong Kong, where he co-directs the Centre for Public Affairs and Law and the Advanced Methods School. His research interests include political sociology, public opinion, digital governance, and the science of science, focusing on the comparative study of Asia. His work has appeared in Perspectives on Politics, Political Communication, Political Psychology, Political Studies, Governance, Information, Communication & Society, New Media & Society, Social Forces, Sociological Methodology, China Quarterly, China Journal, Journal of Contemporary Asia, and as monographs in Chinese University Press and Cambridge University Press. He serves on the editorial boards of several leading journals and book series in political science, sociology, and area studies. He has also held visiting appointments at the University of Oxford and the Australian National University.
